My life has had many twists and turns but through it all I have kept my head up high and never stopped believing in the power of the human spirit! I was a foster child at an early age as my mother fell victim to drugs. This was a hard time for me and my siblings. I was good in athletics and saw it as a way out of this unfortunate situation. My talent for sports awarded me a Football Scholarship and after that, I never looked back. As my bodybuilding career began to flourish, I had a set back -- a compound fracture tib/fib. The doctors told me I would never train again. Through hard work and dedication, I persevered through my injuries and was able to compete in the Nationals one year later. After turning Pro, things were looking up until a leg injury which tore my quad tendon. Talk about bad luck! The doctors once again told me my training days were over and that I should look for another dream. This experience taught me that you can't take anything for granted in life a nd it is what you make of it. Once again I worked through the pain and was back on stage in a year. Two years later I qualified for the Mr.Olympia for the second time. Through it all, MET-Rx never gave up on me and that in turn helped me to never give up on myself.
There are so many different companies out there that say they are the best. As a consumer, it's easy to get confused about what to take for your goals. I have been using MET-Rx since 2002 and since then, it has stood the test of time surpassing many of the "fly by night" companies that use tricky marketing tactics to get you to try their supplements. My body has changed in so many ways and MET-Rx has been at the cornerstone of it all. I will always depend on MET-Rx to help me stay as fit as possible.

I start with an inline press, 4 sets of 12 to 15 reps with the last set as a super drop set to pump the muscle with lots of blood. Next is dumbbell flys and the rep range is the same with a drop set. I like to drop set as it's a great way to condition the muscle in preparation for contest training. Next is dumbbell press followed by dips. I do these together.
I train all my body parts this way as I have the kind of body that responds to moderate weight with no rest in between movements. I've made improvements in my legs and back this year. I do lunges every other day at 5 a.m. with 4 sets of ab movements. I also sumo squat in 20 rep sets up to 405. This has given me more fullness in my legs and deeper separation from the side. I believe in getting the muscles in condition by forcing them to recover quickly. This gives me muscle endurance which creates stronger muscles and that equates to bigger and more conditioned muscle fibers! I call this blowing out the horse. Think of how a jockey gets his horse ready for a race. He must condition it before he can train it at such a brutal pace. I use the same principal in terms of getting myself ready for Pre-contest training by using moderate weights with high reps and little rest time.
I eat 6 meals a day consisting of fish, chicken, beef, turkey, and eggs. My carbs include white rice, sweet potatoes, brown rice and of course, oatmeal.
My diet would not be complete without MET-Rx Arsenal Training Pack, MET-Rx RTD 51, MET-Rx Triple Omega and MET-Rx 100% Whey Protein Shakes with MET-Rx Focus Boosters added in for a good mental-kick. I take Protein Revolution in the off season to pack on size. For my pre and post supplementation, I take MET-Rx Creatine and Glutamine to replenish my body after a brutal workout.
