Greg Plitt's Nutritional Program
Being a fitness model and actor, there is never an ‘on’ or ‘off’ season. Therefore, my diet runs paralell to my career path and goals. In my business, the ultimate working physique is one that can wear clothes and look normal, but when you lose the shirt, it’s like looking at an anatomy chart.
Since you only have a few days to prepare for a cover shoot or a few hours notice before an audition, you always have to be on your ‘A’ game. I live on a high protein, low to no carb diet. I don’t count calories or fats, just carbohydrates. I eat the Caveman’s Diet which comes down to meats and vegetables. I go to a ZERO carb diet one week out from a shoot and maintain a low carb diet on a daily basis when not shooting. If you are looking to gain muscle or lose weight, you need to be eating 4-6 small meals a day to keep your metabolism high and feed your muscles. Here are a list of the foods I eat:
MEATS
• Grilled chiken
• Tilapia, Halibut (all fish and seafoods work for me)
• Sushi with no rice
• Steak
• Tuna fish
• Turkey
• Turkey burgers
• Pork Tenderloin
VEGETABLES: GO GREEN whenever you can!
• Broccoli
• Spinach
• Green Beans
• Cucumbers
SPICES / CONDIMENTS
I mix an array of spices that not only make meals taste better but also provide my body with nutritional benefits:
• Cinnamon
• Garlic
• Gogi berries
• Fish oils / flax oil
• Fiber enriched elements
I supplement my diet with plenty of MET-Rx products. I take in over 300 grams of protein a day with MET-Rx RTD shakes. I drink MET-Rx AMPED NOS before the gym as a pre workout shake and constantly take MET-Rx Glutamine. MET-Rx protein bars come in handy when I want to satisfy a craving.
