Too much Protein?
So can you really have too much of a good thing? Well everything has its limits, but recent research shows that high protein diets are well tolerated by healthy, resistance-trained individuals.1 For an entire year, subjects consumed a high protein diet and investigators found no harmful effects on measures of kidney and liver function. Even more remarkable, when subjects consumed protein in excess of their maintenance calories, they did not gain any fat mass. High protein diets are indeed safe for healthy individuals and even recommended for athletic populations.
